How Long Island Maids Got Started
Long Island Maids was founded in 2013 by Shannon Xerri out of pure frustration. Like many busy Long Island families, Shannon had tried hiring cleaning services — and the experience was consistently disappointing.
Different people showed up every time. No one seemed accountable. Communication was poor. The "personal touch" that local businesses should have was nowhere to be found.
So Shannon decided to build something different. A cleaning company where you actually get the same cleaner every visit. Where the owner is involved and accessible. Where quality and consistency aren't just marketing buzzwords — they're how the business actually runs.
More than a decade later, Long Island Maids has cleaned over 3,000 homes across Nassau and Suffolk counties. But we've never lost sight of why we started: to be the cleaning company we wished existed.
